I watched the Grammys last night and I thought there were some amazing performances but lets be honest, I watch award shows mostly to scope out the dresses and style! Last night was no exception and of course there were some “wow” moments and some “not so much” moments. Below is a look at my thoughts on both ends of the spectrum.
My WOW Moments:
First, I have to brag on my client Heidi; she was able to attend the Grammys and I was lucky enough to style her for them, doesn’t she look beautiful?!
I could not agree more with Rachel Zoe, Taylor Swift is sensational in this shimmering Gucci gown!
I may be biased these days but Ciara is radiant in this Pucci gown! She is proof that you don’t have to give up style while pregnant.
This isn’t your typical, young Grammys look but I think Kelly Osbourne rocks this Badgley Mischka!
If you will notice a theme above, all of the ladies are either head to toe metallic or have metallic features to their dress. An obvious trend winner for the Grammys 2014!
I wish I could say that there were more ladies that blew me away last night, but a few that I believe deserve honorable mention are:
Even if this dress doesn’t really float your boat, Beyonce looks amazing in this Michael Costello design and I give her points for uniqueness without being so out there that no one can relate to the look.
Miranda is classy in this simple, red dress by Pamella Roland. She should be showing off that beautiful body that I am sure she has worked so hard for! She would make my best dressed if the bottom of the dress was as stunning as the top and she was styled a little better (the bag and lipstick) but nonetheless she is beautiful!
Guliana Rancic is always gorgeous and effortless. I love that she took a risk in this tangerine Alex Perry that she pulls off well. I could personally do without the white piping on dress.
From the front, I can’t get enough of this Haus of Milani dress Paris Hilton is wearing…from the back I am not so sure about it.
Not everyone can hit the mark all of the time. These are my red carpet misses from the Grammys 2014:
I understand wanting to stand out and be different, but to me Katy Perry hit the wrong note in this Valentino gown. It is simply to kitschy and over done for me.
I could not be happier for this Texas girl, showing everyone who is boss last night with her amazing talents, I just wish I could say the same for her style. I wasn’t a fan of her red carpet look last night, it looked too young to me and her performance look was way too stereotypical for me. Luckily her singing talents far surpass her styles from the Grammys!!
I know Madonna is not ever going to do the typical thing but I did not agree with her Ralph Lauren looks last night. The black tux was too dark and the off white one over accessorized. She is still Madonna though and I loved the performance!
Who made your “WOW” and “not so much” lists? Awards season isn’t over yet, more to come and I can’t wait to see what the red carpet brings!
