You know I can’t let the Oscars go by and not give my evaluation on the fashion of the evening. Before I give you my best and worst of the red carpet from the biggest awards show of the year, here are a few trend observations from the red carpet.
There were a lot of white/off-white and nude dresses on the red carpet that in my opinion could pass for glamorous wedding dresses-which I am not saying is a bad thing.
Cate Blanchett in Giorgio Armani.
Naomi Watts in Calvin Klein Collection
Julie Deply in Jenny Packham
Calista Flockhart in Andrew Gn
Another trend that graced the red carpet were blush tones.
Jada Pinkett Smith in Versace
Camila Alves in Gabriella Cardena
Laura Dern in Alberta Ferre
Cristin Milioti in Reem Acra
Now, let’s get to my faves of the night!
Giuliana Rancic lit up the red carpet in this Paolo Sebastian dress. The only negative thing I can say is that she may have out-shone the other stars she interviewed on the red carpet!
Stunning is the only word that can describe Kate Hudson in this Versace gown.
I love this simple yet elegant take on a black gown that Emma Watson wore by Vera Wang.
Kelly Osbourne makes my best dressed list again in this Badgley Mischka, the simple silhouette is fabulous on her!
There were several men in shades of elegant blue on the red carpet, Jason Sudeikis in Prada included.
The House of Cards star, Kevin Spacey, wore blue as well in this Burberry tux, a total stand out in every way!
Now for those who, in my humble opinion, missed the mark on the red carpet.
I love Anna Kendrick but I don’t love her in this over worked J. Mendel gown.
I think Lady Gaga thought she was doing one of her over the top performances instead of walking the red carpet in this Versace gown.
I like Angelina Jolie’s Elie Saab gown…I just think it should be on the lovely Meryl Streep, this dress is not age appropriate for her!
Who wore your favorite gown of the evening and who missed the mark? What was your favorite trend on the red carpet?
